Hmmmmm...

Apparently, I'm not the only person who thinks Alex Rodriguez might leave New York for the Friendly Confines once this season is over, if for no other reason than to re-join Lou Piniella.

And while it's tough to empathize with a guy who makes at least $1 more than everybody else in the big leagues, I couldn't agree with Jemele Hill more about this:

"If the Yankees win it all this season, Jeter gets the credit. If the Yankees lose early in the playoffs again, A-Rod shoulders the blame (again)."

Fair or not, that sums up his situation in the Bronx perfectly.

Somebody on Baseball Tonight (Orestes Destrade, I think) predicted that A-Rod would win the All-Star, AL, and World Series MVPs and then leave NY. Granted, it's coming from Destrade, but I wonder if it would be possible to win all those awards and still not win over Yankees fans.

that could happen... i dont see him winning those awards, but if he did he would have proved he can win, and that would have allowed him to get over the pride factor. and then he could stick it to NY fans (so to speak, since he would have just won them a WS...)

too bad its not happening
