Here are a few of the things I found interesting, though not all necessarily wrong.
1. David Ortiz slipped to #9.
2. Jose Reyes and Jimmy Rollins went before Miguel Tejada.
3. 27 of the first 28 picks were hitters.
4. Roy Halladay should not have gone before Carlos Zambrano, Jake Peavy and Brandon Webb in round 4.
5. The first closer, Joe Nathan, went in round 5; K-Rod went 8 picks later.
6. Dice-K went midway through round 5.
7. Ben Sheets dropped to round 7.
8. Felix Hernandez, Scott Kazmir, Matt Cain, Barry Zito, and Cole Hamels all went before Aaron Harang.
9. Jonathan Papelbon went in the 10th round
10. Randy Johnson went in the 11th round, Barry Bonds in the 12th.
11. A team-less Roger Clemens should not have gone in the 13th round, before Ervin Santana and Bronson Arroyo among others.
12. Mark Prior went in round 17.
13. An unhealthy Pedro Martinez should not have gone in round 18, before Tom Glavine, Derek Lowe, Tim Hudson, and Freddy Garcia.
14. 5 set up-men (Joel Zumaya and Dan Wheeler in the 16th round, Jonathan Broxton in the 18th round, Akinori Otsuka and Scott Linebrink in the 19th round) went before the presumptive closers in Florida (round 19), Boston (round 20), Tampa Bay (round 21), and Pittsburgh (round 21).
15. And Mr. Irrelevant, the final and 288th overall pick, was Juan Rivera, who's out until the All Star break with a broken leg.
